Temporary suspension of unilateral visa exemption for some countries to prevent Covid-19
From 00:00 on 12th March 2020 (local time), the Government of Viet Nam temporarily suspends unilateral visa exemption for nationals of the following countries: Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Germany, France and Spain. Citizens of those countries who want to enter Viet Nam need to apply for a visa before entering the country. In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 epidemic, mandatory Medical Declaration is required for all passengers before entry into Vietnam.
For countries that have signed a bilateral visa exemption agreement with Viet Nam, the provisions of the agreement still apply.
The Government of Viet Nam also suspsends the validity of the certificates of visa exemption that have been granted to Vietnamese residing overseas and their relatives in countries where Viet Nam temporarily suspends unilateral visa exemption.
